Huachuca Gould’s Cleanup City Hall!
(well, sort of)
Five volunteers from the Huachuca Gould’s Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation picked up trash and other debris along Coronado Drive in Sierra Vista on December 2nd, 2023. This effort was the second of 2023 and the 13th year of participation in the City’s Adopt-A-Highway program.
By southeastern Arizona standards, it was a chilly start at 33° F. Otherwise, the morning session was greeted by sunshine and no wind.
Nine or so 30-gallon bags were filled after scouring approximately 1-mile of Coronado Drive. The Chapter’s “territory” passes in front of City Hall and Police Headquarters. Starting at 8:00 AM, cleanup was completed 2 hours later.
The bags and loose debris will be picked up by the City and hauled to the local land fill.
Wayne Kaiser coordinated the project with personnel from the City of Sierra Vista. John Millican, Dave Kemnitz, Rob Bridges, and Tom Deecken assisted Wayne with the trash collection.
The next clean-up will be scheduled for the spring of 2024. Check the Chapter’s website in late October and early November for more information.
