Huachuca Gould’s Celebrates 25th Annual
Hunting Heritage Banquet on August 3rd
The Huachuca Gould’s Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation hosted its 25th Annual Hunting Heritage Banquet on August 3rd, 2024. A new location, Ocotillo Hall in Sierra Vista, Arizona was the site of the festivities this year.
The annual Banquet is the Chapter’s major fund-raising effort. Monies raised support the many community-based activities throughout the year. These activities include JAKES Day, Family Get Outdoors, Turkey Hunters Care, Women-in-the-Outdoors, College Scholarship, Adopt-A-Highway, and habitat improvement projects.
This year, just under 160 attended, including ?? JAKES. Six Corporate Tables were reserved as well.
A variety of big and small items were offered in the Live and Silent Auctions, various games, and several raffles. These items included guns, knives, camping equipment, a 5-night stay in a luxury cabin at Greer in the heart of the White Mountains, fishing tackle, wildlife prints, and hunting equipment. The Commissioners’ State-wide Turkey Tag winner was announced as well.
The evening started with socializing and browsing the auction and raffle items. Once again, Auctioneer Bruce Tingle followed with an invocation before a delicious dinner and an assortment of desserts.
Special recognition was given to Veterans, First Responders, and Front-line Workers with their own raffle.
Tristan Goodwin, Scholarship winner in 2024 for the Huachuca Gould’s Chapter, was presented with a financial aid check of $1,000.
Many volunteers from the Huachuca Gould’s and Arizona State Chapter made the Banquet possible. Their efforts started several months earlier with fund raising and planning. Justin Watts (NWTF Regional Director) and Roy Crain (NWTF Arizona State Chapter President) assisted as well. Craig King, Sheena Chavez, and Mike Martin of King’s Armory provided FFL services.
The following individuals and businesses supported the Banquet with cash, service, and merchandise donations:
