Kelly Spring Repairs in December of 2024
On December 4th John Millican and Tom Deecken from the Huachuca Gould’s Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation installed protective sleeves over water pipes at the Kelly Spring development in the Huachuca Mountains. The inflow and outflow lines at the storage tank had sustained damage in the past.
A small metal drinker provides water for wildlife. This improvement also includes an adjacent storage tank and a pipeline from an up-canyon spring.
A full storage tank was good news. The water level at the spring feeding the improvement was noticeably low, though, and reflected little moisture recorded recently.
Numerous deer and javelina tracks were evident around the drinker.
The Kelly Spring drinker is one of several habitat improvements that the Huachuca Gould’s Chapter has installed and continues to maintain annually in the Huachuca Mountain area of southeastern Arizona.
