Huachuca Gould’s Celebrates
23rd Annual Hunting Heritage Banquet
Sierra Vista, Arizona
The Huachuca Gould’s Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation hosted its 23rd Annual Hunting Heritage Banquet on August 7th, 2021. It was held at Knights of Columbus in Sierra Vista, Arizona.
The Banquet is an important fund-raising event that supports Chapter community-based activities held throughout the year. These activities include JAKES Day, Family Get Outdoors, Turkey Hunters Care, Women-in-the-Outdoors, College Scholarship, and habitat improvement projects.
This year, 202 attended including 21 JAKES. Eleven Corporate Tables were reserved as well.
An assortment of guns, camping equipment, excursions, fishing tackle, wildlife prints, and even a chain saw, smoker, and an ice chest full of choice cuts of beef and pork were offered in games, auctions, and raffles. Special raffles were held for the ladies, JAKES, banquet underwriters, veterans, and first responders. The Commissioners’ State-wide Turkey Tag winner was announced as well.
Festivities started with the Gobblin’ Hour for sipping, socializing, and tale swapping. Auctioneer Bruce Tingle followed with an invocation before a delicious dinner of turkey with fixings and an assortment of desserts.
Veterans and first responders were recognized for their service to our community and the nation.
Thanks are due to the volunteers from the Huachuca Gould’s and Arizona State Chapters for their efforts in hosting the Banquet. Their work started several months earlier with fund raising and planning. Deserving special recognition for assistance at the banquet are Jonathan Graham (NWTF Regional Director), Ryan Conat (NWTF R3 Coordinator), Auctioneer Bruce Tingle, and Sheena Chavez and Craig King of King’s Armory (FFL Dealer).
The Huachuca Gould’s Chapter thanks all that attended and the donors and underwriters for their generous support. We hope to see you next year at the 24th Annual Hunting Heritage Banquet!
Hope to see you again next year!
