Huachuca Gould’s Chapter Participates in 2023 National Get Outdoors Day
For another year, the Huachuca Gould’s Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation offered a bb gun range for area youth at the 2023 National Get Outdoors Day. This event was held on June 10th at Parker Canyon Lake in Cochise County, Arizona.
The bb gun station provided youth (and maybe the not so youthful) attendees with shooting fundamentals and firearms safety.
An estimated 50 shooters took aim at paper turkey targets throughout the morning and early afternoon.
This community service event was hosted by the Sierra Vista Ranger District of the Coronado National Forest. Other cooperators included Sit-Means-Sit, Arizona State Parks, Huachuca Area Herpetological Association, National Park Service, and Huachuca Gem and Mineral Club.
Volunteers from the Huachuca Gould’s Chapter that assisted with bb gun range and provided information about the Chapter activities were Dave Winiesdorffer, Scott Vasey, Dave Kemnitz, Wayne Kaiser, Rob Bridges, Ryan Wheeler, John Millican, and Tom Deecken.
