General Information: The Southern Arizona Chapter of Quail Forever held its annual Quail Fest on December 9th, 2018 in Sonoita, Arizona. This annual event allowed local conservation organizations and businesses to interact with around 200 attendees.
The setting in the heart of the Sonoita Grassland boarded by the Santa Rita and Whetstone Mountains and Canelo Hills was very appropriate. Gambels, Scaled, and Mearns Quail along with several other game species are found nearby in the varied habitats.

Huachuca Gould’s Chapter members participating in the event were John Millican, Bruce and Karon Nunez, Dave Winiesdorffer, and Tom Deecken.
Locally, Quail Forever has been very active in research and habitat projects and retaining access to public lands, all activities supported by the Huachuca Gould’s Chapter. The Chapter will be cooperating with Quail Forever in their upcoming Youth Hunt as well. This event will be held on the nearby Las Cienegas National Conservation Area on March 2nd.
